We've been dealing with some unfortunate and annoying situations lately, but a birthday is a good time to focus on the positive.  So here are some good things that are going on in our lives!

For one, we have a new camera!  All the better to capture birthday celebrations with.  We had a carrot cake (Bakker tradition) with white mountain icing (Chenette tradition), with glorious results:

We've also been taking cat pictures, as usual.  The cats have been particularly cute lately, sleeping on the couch together and helping Sara work on her dissertation.

Right when we got the camera, we took a walk down our street just to try it out on different subjects.  We're pretty happy with it.

In addition--and I had to end with this one--Sara continues to be pregnant!  I can't believe I haven't announced it here until now.  (In fact, that's part of the reason I've taken so long off from blogging.)  We're due May 20, and we can't wait!
