Fall color and the Jardine Juniper

This hike was just too beautiful. I apologize, there are just a ton of pictures.

Heading off!

Note the tree, bending in the incredible wind

A brief flashback to the East Coast

The oldest known Rocky Mountain juniper, 1500+ years old

Enjoying a brief rest

On the way back, we got some mist and sprinkles

Now that I see the images of the journey, I can see why that gnarly old tree makes for a great destination. The views on the way are stunning, especially in that glorious autumn color. I love the photo of Miriam resting on Sara with the colorful leaves framing them. And you're right about the flashback to the East Coast. Our hike to Hunter Mountain in the Catskills last weekend looked much like that. Thanks for posting!

What a way to get me into the fall spirit! That juniper must be an awesome sight. Things here have just started to get breezy, cool, and showing color. Can't wait to share Thanksgiving with you guys next month!

Wow! What beautiful pictures. I hope I look that good when I am 1500 yrs old...or at least that people still come see me!
