By way of proving my continuing existence, here are a few photos from break. They're from the Canadian side of Lake Erie, where the lake clearly had been frozen over but was not any more. When we visited, it was a bunch of shards of ice, arranged in fascinating patterns, heaving on the waves.
Now back to work preparing lessons for the week...

Wow, Erie really IS eerie. Especially with no evidence of humans in your pictures. Now I understand the name!
Seems like some poetry should accompany all that eerieness (or Erieness). Maybe some haiku?
