In the meantime, here's a garden update!
We have arugula growing right outside the backdoor (and lettuce, but it looks about the same, so I'll spare you):
Bulbs are coming up in all kinds of surprising places--this is one of the least surprising, right behind the house (next to our square rain barrel). If you look closely, you can see some peony stalks coming up (they're red), as they are all over.
Here are our new peach (foreground) and cherry (middle ground) trees. If you look closely, you'll see open flowers on the peach.
The raspberry plants that have crept in from neighbors' patches are flushing:
Just for completeness, this back side garden includes most of our 35 or so raspberry plants (they're hard to see). You can also see the back four rows of our garden: potatoes on the end (not up yet), then asparagus in the trench (started poking out, so we put more dirt on), then strawberries, then empty.
Speaking of strawberries. And you can see our drip irrigation line.
At latest count, we have 57 garlic plants. They are mostly not this big--they're multiple varieties, and one variety came up a good month before certain other ones.
Our leeks are... well, still puny. Common sense says they won't survive. But they did in Bloomington, so I have to believe they will here too.
About 8 kale plants lived through the winter, and is coming on strong. These four have already been somewhat heavily eaten from (by Mima).
The spinach that also lived through the winter is growing quite slowly, but then it gets virtually no direct sun.
And here are the superstars of our seedlings in the basement. They're all much bigger than they look in these pictures. Something about the perspective really shrinks them.

Hope you guys have big appetites this summer, or maybe you can count on Mima to keep the produce from accumulating. Jeannie will be there soon, as well, and I'm sure she'll help. Looks like a great summer of gardening ahead.
To me for you to put some comparison garden shots on this blog!! Let's see the produce!
What has happened with the house next door now that it is condemned?
