Earlier this year, on my visit to Southern California, Nate and I hiked up Santiago Peak. It was a nice, long trail. We had been told about the "communications towers" at the top. But we were still impressed when we got there: it looked like a Siberian missile installation you'd see in a James Bond movie:


Still, there were some really nice views into the valley and beyond:




Well, it turns out the fires in the area are very near this mountain. We're hoping they aren't going to destroy such a beautiful (and cool) place!
