Wow. Once you're on "the list," you never get off. I just received Invitations Nos. 7 and 8 to sing in various choirs, and that's just in this semester (in addition to the two permanent choirs I'm in). Most were for choirs to sing in composition recitals, but the most recent one was to sing in a professional choir with Raymond Leppard in Indianapolis for money. But I'll have you know that I turned that down, just to attend Claire's recital! That's the kind of brother I am. In the meantime, I've signed up for far too many of the others, considering I've got classwork and teaching to attend to, and I'm trying to prepare as well as possible for the graduate workshop in early music analysis for the Society for Music Theory conference in mid-November. It's fun--but sometimes, you (that is, I) just have to say no.

Tim,
I'm glad people have discovered and want to draw on your talent. It's wonderful that you can both MAKE and ANALYZE music. My that combination bring you a lifetime of rewards.
And I'm impressed at what kind of a brother you are!
Love,
Dad
